SEPIFIRE II: “Study of sepiolite-based fire retardant systems”

This research project funded by MINECO seeks to study the performance of sepiolite-based additives in fire retardant systems. In the SEFIRE project, the effect of sepiolite-based additives on fire retardancy of commercial polymer systems is determined by cone calorimeter test. The investigation will also include study of fire behaviour, fire retardant mechanisms, mechanical properties, thermal stability and structure of the char after burning.
