In 2008, Dr. Cíntora-Juárez received his BSc. degree in Chemistry from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), after working on the synthesis and evaluation of catalysts for methanol fuel cells.
In 2009 Dr. Cíntora-Juárez was awarded an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship for master studies in the Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion for following courses in three different European universities on fundamental and practical aspects of materials and technologies for energy applications. His master thesis focused on the measurement of transport and mechanical properties of block co-polymer electrolytes and their application in lithium-metal batteries.
In order to continue his scientific formation, Dr. Cíntora-Juárez enrolled in the PhD. program “Materials and Energy” at the University of Córdoba in Spain. His PhD. thesis project was developed in collaboration with the company Abengoa Research, focusing on the improvement of alkali-ion battery cathodes trough formation of composites with conducting polymers.
Besides the scientific aspects, Dr. Cíntora-Juárez has deep interest in technology transfer and has completed several introductory courses on intellectual property, business management and entrepreneurship. Currently, Dr. Cíntora-Juárez work as a post-doctoral Research Associate in the electrochemistry group at IMDEA Materials Institute. As for October 2016, he has co-authored 9 research papers, a book chapter and a patent application.
