Miguel Castillo Rodríguez finished the studies of the degree in Physical Sciences in 2001 (University of Seville). During the period 2002-2006 he was an FPI Fellow of the Ministry of Education and Science, obtaining in 2004 the Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) within the doctoral program with a mention of quality “Science of Materials”. During his doctoral studies, he held two stays at the “Center National de la Recherche Scientifique” (Unité Mixte CNRS-ONERA) in Paris, a center of recognized prestige in the field of electron microscopy. In 2006 he obtained the European doctorate in Physical Sciences with the qualification of “Outstanding Cum Laude by Unanimity”. From May 2008 to December 2010, he studied at the Max Planck Institute for Metals Research (Stuttgart, Germany), where he studied the microstructure of dislocations in perovskite-type materials using high-resolution (TEM) and high-resolution electron microscopy (HRTEM). In 2011 he completed another postdoctoral stay at the University of the Basque Country, where he studied mechanical spectroscopy in Ti and Al alloys. In 2012 he obtained a JAE-doc contract from the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas to investigate the effects on the mechanical properties of The incorporation of carbon nanotubes in ceramic matrices. He has participated in research projects financed by the Ministry of Education and Science, the Junta de Andalucía, the Ministry of Industry of the Basque Country and the German Government for Scientific Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG). All of them related to the manufacture and the microstructural-mechanical characterization of advanced materials. He has published 24 scientific articles to date in international journals included in the Science Citation Index (SCI) and has participated in several national and international congresses. He has the accreditations of Assistant Professor Doctor, Professor Contracted Doctor and Professor Private University granted by the ANECA.
