Paula Alvaredo completed the degree of Chemistry at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) and a Master Degree in Materials Science and Engineering at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) in 2008 where she also obtained her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering with the work entitled New cermet materials with Fe matrix: Study of composition, microstructure and properties in 2012. During this period she stayed at KU Leuven (Belgium) and EPFL (Lausanne) to complete her experimental thesis work. After the PhD she has worked as Assistant Professor in Powder Metallurgy research group at UC3M.
Her research areas are focused on the development of materials by Powder Metallurgy and she has developed two main lines: the Searching of Alternative Binders in Hard Materials and design and development of High Entropy Alloys.
During her career Paula Alvaredo has been involved in six international projects and five national projects. She has published fourteen scientific papers in peer-reviewed international journals and she has co-authored 25 presentations in international and national conferences.
