Then, he was promoted to be an associate professor in October 2016 and, in April 2017, he came to IMDEA Materials Institute based on the Talent Attractive Fellowship of Madrid and the Marie Curie Individual Fellowship.
Zhilin Liu completed his Bachelor study between September 2006 and July 2010. Then, he got full scholarship for MPhil study at CSU between September 2010 and July 2011, followed by commencing PhD candidature at UQ with CSC scholarship, UQI scholarship and UQ top-up scholarship in August 2011. During the candidature of Bachelor and MPhil, Zhilin mainly focused on Mechacnical Enginereing; however, he transformed to Materials Engineering for PhD. Currently, his research include (a) Crystallography of Phase Transformation in Solid Materials, (b) Nanomechanics and Micromechanics of Advanced Materials, and (c) Solidification and Grain Refinement of Cast Metals/Alloys.
