Javier LLorca gave two keynote lectures at the Chinese Materials Conference in Shenzhen in the symposia devoted to “Materials Simulation, Computation, and Design” and “Magnesium alloys”. In addition, he visited the School of Materials Science and Engineering in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where he gave an invited lecture entitled “Assessment of deformation mechanisms in Mg alloys by means of advanced characterization techniques and machine learning”. He also visited the National Facility for Translational Medicine of Shanghai Jiao Tong University to establish collaborations in the area of bioresorbable metallic scaffolds (Mg and Zn) for bone repair and cardiovascular therapies.
