The award was given to Prof. LLorca “for his contributions to unveil the link between microstructure and mechanical properties in a wide variety of structural materials by means of multiscale modelling strategies and nanomechanical characterization techniques”. 

The formal presentation of the award took place at the TMS-AIME Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, March 6, in Orlando, Florida during TMS 2024, the 153th Annual Meeting of the Minerals, Metals and Materials Society.
