The continuous plasma electrolytic oxidation process developed by Dr. Wahaaj Ali obtains the Award of the International Mg Society for the Innovative Process of the Year

Wahaaj developed during his PhD thesis an innovative process to modify the surface of Mg wires by plasma electrolytic oxidation. The process increases corrosion resistance, minimizes pitting and improves biocompatibility of Mg wires for wire-based medical devices such as, stents, sutures, staples etc. Moreover, it can easily scalep-up, opening new possibilities for Mg wires in healthcare applications.
