Two new research projects from the Spanish Supercomputing network have been awarded.

The Spanish Supercomputing Network has awarded two research projects to the Mechanics of Materials Research group. The Network will provide 1.69 million of CPU hours to carry out both projects.

The first project entitled “Prediction of the phase-diagram of metallic alloys of technological interest from cluster expansion and statistical mechanics” is aimed at the calculation of the phase diagram of Al-Cu-Li alloys.

The second project entitled “Design of new catalysts with improved performance for the oxygen reduction reaction through first principles simulations and elastic strain engineering” is aimed at the discovery of new catalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction through the application of elastic strains.
