Two of our group members recently assisted the HeteroNanoCarb 2025 conference, held in Benasque (Spain) from the 13th to the 17th of January. Prof. Juan José Vilatela presented a talk entitled “Fibres of Carbon Nanotube Intercalation Compounds and the Prospect of Replacing Copper“. He showed advances on the intercalation of halogens and metal halides on CNT bundles, delved into the relationship between allignment whithin the bundle and the basal conductivity of the fiber, and showed promising results on CNTICs surpasing specific conductivity of copper. Ana Inés de Isidro presented a follow-up talk entitled “Structure of Carbon Nanotube Fiber Intercalation Compounds with Halogens and Metal Halides“. She presented advances on the techniques and current determination of the intercalant structure for Br and AlCl3 CNTIC.
