Carmen Martínez has obtained the FPU fellowship from the Ministry of Universities to carry out her doctoral studies under the supervision of Prof. J. LLorca. Carmen’s thesis will be devoted to modify the catalytic properties of metallic alloys through the application of large elastic strains to design more efficient and selective catalysts. Carmen will carry out her doctoral thesis in the Advanced Chemistry program of the Complutense University of Madrid.
The FPU fellowships are awarded every year in a competitive call among the top students of the country in all areas of knowledge (humanities, social sciences, life sciences, physical sciences and engineering). Three graduate students of the Mechanics of Materials group (Barbara Bellón, Rodrigo Santos and Clara Galera) have received the same fellowship in previous years.
