New research project MAFMA funded by the European Union

The research project MAFMA (Multiscale Analysis of Fatigue in Mg alloys) is an Individual Fellowship funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions of the Horizon 2020 Program of the European Union.

The project will analyse the mechanisms of deformation and fracture in Mg alloys during cyclic deformation using a multiscale modelling strategy that includes molecular dynamics, dislocation dynamics, phase-field modelling and crystal plasticity. The predictions of the multiscale simulations in terms of the cyclic stress-strain curve, the mechanisms of crack nucleation and growth, the twinning-detwinning processes during cyclic deformation as well as the fatigue life will be compared with experimental in different Mg alloys.
