The doctoral thesis of Wahaaj Ali entitled “Bioabsorbable composite laminates of PLA reinforced with surface-modified Mg wires for orthopedic implant applications” has obtained the Award to the Best Doctoral thesis in Materials Science and Engineering from the Carlos III University of Madrid. The thesis was co-advised by Prof. Javier LLorca and Prof. Carlos González and the investigation was supported by the European ITN BioImplant.
