Wei Shao presented her First Year Assessment entitled “First principles prediction of Al-based binary phase diagrams” on April 21st and Biaobiao Yang presented his First Year Assessment entitled “Deformation mechanisms of dual-textured Mg-6.5Zn alloy with limited tension-compression yield asymmetry” on April 28th.

Both investigations -each one of them has already led to two publications in international peer-reviewed journals- received a positive evaluation from the key readers and both Wei and Biaobiao will continue their investigations towards the PhD.
