Wahaaj developed during his PhD thesis an innovative process to modify the surface of Mg wires by plasma electrolytic oxidation. The process increases corrosion resistance, minimizes pitting and improves biocompatibility of Mg wires for wire-based medical devices such as, stents, sutures, staples
