The Tissue Engineering and Biomedical Materials (TEBM) group at IMDEA Materials develops advanced biomaterials and biofabrication strategies for tissue regeneration and biomedical applications. Our research combines extracellular matrix-derived and tissue-specific biomaterials, computationally designed structural reinforcements, and advanced fabrication technologies, including freeze-casting and 3D bioprinting. By integrating materials science, engineering and cell biology, we aim to create biomimetic scaffolds and in vitro models that reproduce the structural and biological complexity of native tissues, with a particular focus on musculoskeletal tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
