Last week, from January 22nd to 24th, members of the BCD Group attended the II Workshop on Additive Biofabrication, held in Santiago de Compostela. The event brought together researchers working at the crossroads of additive manufacturing, biomaterials, and tissue engineering, creating a fantastic environment for scientific exchange and discussion.
We are especially proud to highlight that two of our PhD candidates delivered oral presentations, sharing their ongoing research:
🔹 Ángela García de la Camacha Díaz presented “Additive Manufacturing of bioabsorbable continuous wire-reinforced composites for Bone Tissue Engineering”, focusing on advanced composite strategies for bone regeneration.
🔹 Luis Calero Lumbreras presented “Processability and biocompatibility of additively manufactured zinc-alloy implants”, addressing key challenges in the development of bioresorbable metallic implants.
In addition, our PI:
🔹 Dr. Mónica Echeverry Rendón, presented “Advances in 3D-printed scaffolds: guided tissue regeneration: polymer-to-metal approaches”, highlighting the group’s multidisciplinary vision in scaffold design and regenerative strategies.
