Our PhD researcher Luis Calero Lumbreras presented his work at the Materials Science and Engineering Congress (MSE 2026), held at Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany, from 29 September to 1 October 2026.
In the X-ray Characterization session, Luis presented the work “Study of Defect Formation Mechanisms in Zn-Mg-Mn Alloys Processed by L-PBF via Microtomography and Operando Radiography.” The study uses complementary X-ray imaging techniques to investigate how defects form during laser powder bed fusion of zinc alloys, contributing to a better understanding of their processability.
The congress offered three days of scientific discussions, opportunities to share ongoing research, and connections with the international materials science community.
👏 We are pleased to see our group’s research shared at MSE 2026 and thank the organisers for an engaging meeting!
