IMDEA Materials has significant experience hosting and training at postdoctoral and predoctoral levels, as shown by the participation in 16 European training programs within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions (2 COFUND, 5 CIG, 1 IIF, 7 IF and 2 EID) and the supervision of over 88 PhDs in collaboration with national and international universities.
Being fully aware of the importance of the integration of newcomers, the Human Resources (HHRR) Department at the HI follows open, transparent and gender equality premises. IMDEA is a Local Contact Point of the EURAXESS network and received the “HR Excellence in Research” award on 21/10/2015. Additional support is provided to new students and researchers with visa and work permits, as well as housing.
In a multicultural science-based environment such as this one, English is mandatory and lessons are provided for those willing to improve their level. Also, in order to promote the integration of foreign researchers with tha national ones and the country itself Spanish lessons are also offered and team building activities are programmed on a regular basis.
