Abstract:
Trillions of dollars of polymer products, such as wires and cables, hydrogels, tires, heat shrinkable films, wood plastic for floor, tubes, etching, disinfection, harm removal, 3D printing, and coating etc. have been recreated by electron beam (EB) technology every year. Over the past decade, EB technology as a sustainable method is widely used in polymer science such as cross-linking, segmented block, grafting, degradation, polymerization, chain extension, branching, chain scission, etc. In this seminar, design and preparation of high-performance flame-retardant polymer composite/nanocomposite will be introduced through dynamic and static EB treatment. Then, the effects of dynamic and static EB treatment on thermal stability, fire behavior and mechanical properties of polymer composite/nanocomposite will be investigated. In the end, the use of sustainable EB treatment to recover and utilize polymer composites /nanocomposite will be discussed. Throughout this seminar, the relationship of raw materials, EB processing, properties, applications will be discussed, including suitable examples taken from our previous work.
