Since its creation in 2007, IMDEA Materials Alumni community has done nothing but grow. Two of the pillars that define the culture of our institution, performing excellent research in materials science and engineering and transferring our knowledge and technology to the industry, are the principles that propel the transfer of our PhD students and post-doctoral researchers to the best academic institutions and companies worldwide. Dr. Bárbara Bellón has seen first-hand just how quickly IMDEA Materials’ International Reputation has grown in recent years. Bellón completed her PhD at the Madrid-based research centre from 2015-2020.
Álvaro Doñoro became a PhD student at IMDEA Materials in 2019. He completed his PhD thesis entitled “Stable lithium-sulfur batteries through electrode and interface engineering” in 2022.
Dr. Antoine Jerusalem admits it was a gamble joining a fledgling IMDEA Materials back in 2008 in the Institute’s earliest years, but there’s no doubt in his mind that the bold bet more than paid off.
Dr. Alicia Moya Cuenca joined IMDEA Materials in 2013, where she completed her PhD thesis entitled “Hybrid systems based on metal oxide and nanocarbons: electronic properties and applications for photocatalysis”.
Dr Francisca Martínez-Hergueta has highlighted the positive work and research environment provided by IMDEA Materials Institute as one of its most attractive features for current and prospective researchers.
Dr. Eva Moreno was born in Toledo, Spain. She joined IMDEA Materials in 2009, where she completed her PhD thesis entitled “Formability of ultra-fine grained metallic materials” under the supervision of Dr. Ilchat Sabirov.
