The main goal of the new initiative is to develop a new collaboration framework between the companies, universities, technological/research centers interested in promoting the growth and application of advanced materials and nanomaterials.

The horizontal approach of the Platform includes within its sphere of action, the different industrial activities related to Materials-Nanomaterials Science and Engineering, which are part of the value chain involved in different products manufacturing processes.

IMDEA Materials, together with Inasmet-Tecnalia and ICMM-CSIC, are the national R&D entities members of the Steering Committee.
