Organisation of the International Workshop on High Strength Steels (HSS)

The DELIGHTED project is actively involved in organizing the International Workshop on High Strength Steels (HSS), scheduled to take place on October 26-27, 2023, in Bergamo, Italy, under the umbrella of Associazione Italiana di Metallurgia. Among the co-organizers of the Worskhop are the members of the DELIGHTED consortium, including Silvia Barella (POLIMI), Carlo Mapelli (POLIMI), Roumen Petrov (UGENT), Dirk Ponge (MPIE) and Ilchat Sabirov (IMDEA). They are joined by Ettore Anelli (Franchini Acciai), who is serving as the Workshop co-chair, along with other co-organizers such as Federica Bassani (Associazione Italiana di Metallurgia), Manuele Dabalà (Università di Padova), Carlos Garcia-Mateo (CENIM-CSIC), Andrea Di Schino (Università di Perugia), and Marina Polyakova (Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University).

The workshop’s primary objective is to bring together experts and researchers from the international community to present and discuss the latest research and developments in the field of high strength steel grades. Key topics that will be covered include alloy design, high strength low alloy (HSLA) steels, advanced high strength steels (AHSS), advanced heat treatments, and thermo-mechanical processing. The workshop program will include both invited presentations by distinguished speakers and selected talks based on submitted abstracts.

This event will provide an exceptional platform for individuals involved in the research, development, and application of high strength steels to share recent advancements in metallurgical design, production techniques, and the quality and properties of HSS products, with a specific emphasis on surface and inner quality.
