Join a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship

IMDEA Materials Institute invites talented postdoctoral researchers to apply for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA-PF) and to carry out their research at our institute.

Why apply for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship?

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships are among Europe’s most prestigious and competitive funding programmes for researchers. They provide an exceptional opportunity to enhance your scientific excellence, develop new skills, expand your international network, and accelerate your career progression.

Located in Madrid, Spain, IMDEA Materials Institute is an internationally recognised research centre dedicated to materials science and engineering. Our mission is to develop advanced materials and manufacturing technologies that address major societal and industrial challenges. As an MSCA Fellow at IMDEA Materials, you will benefit from Scientific Excellence, Career Development, a strong international environment, pre- and post-proposal development support and excellent quality of life.

Applicants must meet the eligibility conditions established by the European Commission for MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships.

In general, candidates should:

  • Hold a PhD degree at the call deadline.
  • Have a maximum of eight years of research experience after the award of their PhD (certain career breaks and special circumstances may be excluded from this calculation according to MSCA rules).
  • Comply with the MSCA mobility rule, meaning they must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the host country for more than 12 months during the 36 months immediately before the call deadline.
  • Demonstrate a strong academic track record and research potential.
  • Possess excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Have research interests that align with the scientific activities of IMDEA Materials and the expertise of a prospective supervisor.

We particularly welcome applications from researchers with ambitious project ideas in materials science, materials engineering, manufacturing technologies, computational materials science, sustainability, circular economy, artificial intelligence for materials, energy-related materials, and other related fields.
