Abstract:

This study investigates defect formation during continuous-laser additive manufacturing of Inconel-718 through real-time monitoring integrating photodiodes and XCT tomography. Advanced machine learning techniques were applied to analyse and correlate thermal emission patterns with specific defects (LoF and Keyhole). The proposed methodology can be extrapolated to larger-scale components, enabling efficient defect management in critical industrial applications.
