Isabel Portero, Founder and CSO at Biohope, will give an innovation talk entitled “From Scientific Insight to Deep-Tech Venture: Lessons from Biohope on Bringing Cell-Based Diagnostics to Market.” The talk will take place on May 13 at noon in the seminar room.

Biography:

Isabel is a Physician, entrepreneur, and the founder and CEO of Biohope, a biotechnology company based in Madrid. She is a medical doctor with a PhD and extensive experience at the intersection of clinical medicine, translational research, and biomedical innovation in several biotech companies and the pharma industry. She has also been an associate professor of medicine at UCM and an invited professor of biotechnology at UFV. She has created and led several research teams and has participated in the development of biomarkers for diagnosing Alzheimer’s disease and cell therapy products. Dr Portero leads the development of Immunobiogram®, a novel functional in vitro diagnostic test aimed at personalising immunosuppressive therapy in transplant and immune-mediated diseases, applying a precision medicine approach to improve patient outcomes.
