My name is Mahdi Sabbaghian, and I am a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Tehran, Iran.
In my Ph.D. thesis, I worked on the microstructural and textural evolutions, mechanical properties, and corrosion behavior of biodegradable Mg-Zn-x (x= Gd or Mn) alloys prepared by thermomechanical deformation processes such as extrusion, equal channel angular pressing (ECAP), and Simple Shear Extrusion (SSE).
Besides, I have worked on the microstructural evolution and superplastic behavior of Mg-3Gd-1Zn alloy processed by friction stir processing (FSP) in my MSc. project.
In my research career, as a visiting researcher, I was at Seoul National University, South Korea, (six months at 2018) to conduct some parts of my Ph.D. thesis experiments. I was also performed a 3-month research at Osnabruck University of Applied Sciences, Germany, which was supported by German Research Foundation (DFG) at 2022.
I have joined Bio/Chemo/Mechanics of Materials group at IMDEA as a postdoc researcher in the framework of Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie program. In this path, I will work on the coating, mechanical properties, corrosion behavior and biocompatibility of some biodegradable magnesium alloys which will be fabricated by additive manufacturing.

My name is Alberto Rosas and I’m from Madrid. I have a degree in Psychology from the Complutense University of Madrid, and later I completed a Master’s in Human Resources Management and Direction. I have 10 years of experience in this field, working for different companies, mainly focusing on selection and development areas.
Recently, I joined the team at IMDEA Materials as a Human Resources Technician in the Research Personnel Recruitment Office, to support the institute in implementing its talent development, attraction, and retention strategies.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and practicing some sports.
