We are organising the 2nd International Seminar on Modelling, Simulation, and Machine Learning for the Rapid Development of Porous Materials. This is the follow-up meeting to the inaugurational one, which was organised at the German Space Agency in Cologne in May, 2023.
We aim to bring together young and senior scientists, comprising different scientific communities engaged in the fundamental understanding of porous materials. We encourage young scientists to present their research in progress. We do our best to create a friendly, informal atmosphere and promote crosstalk between disciplines related to porous materials, particularly for bridging the gaps between scales and for promoting applied math and software tools aiding the characterisation and discovery of porous materials.
We welcome both lecture and poster formats from all areas of computational understanding of porous media. Topics are centered around, but not limited to, these four areas:
- Materials modelling of porous media and architectured materials
- Molecular simulation of porous materials
- Modelling of nanostructured porous materials, e.g., aerogels, metal organic frameworks, etc.
- Machine learning in porous media and material discovery

Time and duration: March 4th-6th, 2024. March 4th will have an informal format aimed at researchers arriving in Madrid that day, while March 5th-6th will involve seminars and poster sessions.
