Abstract

METALIA project (“Enabling Technologies for the Implementation of Artificial Intelligence in the value chain of Additive Manufacturing of new metallic alloys”) aims to strengthen the capabilities of the Spanish industrial fabric through the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, for the optimization of the value chain of Additive Manufacturing (AM) of new metallic materials: design, manufacturing, post-processes and life cycle analysis; as well as the validation of the AI tools developed in prototypes of different industrial sectors, mainly in applications of industrial biotechnology, aeronautics, space, industrial, among others, increasing the possibilities of industrialization of additive manufacturing thanks to automated quality control, productivity improvement, and the expansion of materials usable by the technology, contributing to boost the competitiveness of the Spanish industry.

In addition, the TransMisiones 2023 initiative project, which will last 4 years, aims to achieve effective collaboration between the companies that make up the CDTI cluster and the research centers of the AEI cluster, favoring an environment that favors the generation of scientific results towards advanced levels of technological maturity thanks to a correct transfer between scientific research and technological development.
