Abstract

The Research Personnel Recruitment Office of IMDEA Materials Institute (OCPI IMDEA Materials) is part of the Human Resources department of the center and reports directly to the Management and the Steering Committee of the center.

The IMDEA Materials OCPI is composed of four part-time staff (Rosa Bazán, HR Manager, Ainhoa Zapatero, Recruitment and Payroll Manager, Verónica Galán, Personnel Support Management Assistant and Mariana Huerta, Events and Communication Assistant) who are responsible for implementing the Institute’s talent attraction and retention strategy.

The HR manager has more than 20 years of experience in HR management and leadership and is responsible for the coordination and implementation of the institute’s human resources strategy (HRS4R).

Since 2015, she has been collaborating with the European Commission as an independent expert to carry out the peer evaluations on which the mechanism for awarding and renewing the HR Excellence in Research and HRS4R (HR Excellence in Research and HRS4R) seal is based.

Among the main activities of this area are:
1) providing support to the Institute’s 16 research groups in the recruitment and selection processes.
2) managing the reception of new recruits in all administrative matters (residence and work permits, registration, health card, TIE, etc.) and practical matters (accommodation, opening a bank account, contracting services, etc.) for both new researchers and their family members (management of residence permits for family members, schooling, etc.).
3) to design and implement the institute’s training and development plan and promote professional development activities.
4) organizing social activities and facilitating the integration of new recruits
