This presentation offers actionable insights into scientific publishing for researchers and students in chemistry and materials science. The session begins with an introduction to Science China Press and its journal portfolio, underscoring the Press’s dedication to high-quality research dissemination within the global scientific community.

Drawing on extensive editorial experience, Dr. Dong will address the most common challenges authors face — from manuscript structure and argument clarity to scope alignment and effective presentation of novelty and significance. The talk provides concrete recommendations to improve the likelihood of a manuscript advancing to peer review and reducing early rejection.

Biography:

Dr. Shaohua Dong is a Scientific Editor at Science China Press (SCP), where he handles manuscript peer review for Science China Materials and leads the launch of two new journals. Previously, he was a Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore and a Postdoctoral Fellow at Peking University. He obtained his PhD from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
