Our colleague Rubén D. Costa, Senior Researcher of IMDEA Materials, has been awarded the Young Researcher ChemPubSoc Prize by the Real Spanish Society of Chemistry (RSEQ) for his advances in the field of thin-film electroluminescent devices based on sustainable materials such as copper complexes (I). Special mention is made of his work in the design of blue-emitting complexes as well as the improvements in the efficiency and stability of their devices elucidating the degradation mechanisms. These advances pave the way to white-emitting devices with cheaper and sustainable electroluminescent materials.
